Q&A: Four Tet Talks Euphoria

I recently had the pleasure of speaking to Kieran Hebden, better known as innovative electronics maven Four Tet, for The A.V. Club on the subject of his superb new album, There Is Love In You (read a review of that here). Check out our chat to learn more about his process, his motives, and why you should start ripping off clothes four minutes into the single, “Love Cry.”

Love is all around him.

“If I was really trying to hold my ass tight for what I thought someone out there wanted, I wouldn’t be singing on this record. I would make Dead Ringer again. I don’t feel the need to be apologetic about [2007’s The Third Hand] or my singing.”

Read the entire interview here, in which Ramble John “RJD2” Krohn discusses going for dolo in a cutthroat industry, not to mention the various ways in which the talented man seems to generally not give a fuck.

If you’re not familiar with the album, Fever Ray, refresh yourself here, then read this interview with Miss Andersson on the occasion of her debut U.S. tour.
